Heading home
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes- I am going home from the hospital this afternoon! The drs came in yesterday and evaluated everything, and there was no changes (which is what they wanted to see!) Since there is no way to get my cervix back to where it should be, the only thing we want now is no change. They monitored me for contractions and didn’t see anything that concerned them, so the immediate risk for labor seems to be gone at this time. Whew! It’s been tough to wrap our heads around. From having an excellent appointment at 20 weeks to being told you may be meeting the babies sooner than antipciated was a lot to take in.
We also reached our first milestone of making it to 23 weeks! I am now 23 weeks, 1 day. If the babies were to come this week they would be able to take full advantage of the steroid and magnesium that was administered. Yay! Of course, we don’t want them coming quite yet but we are happy to have made it a few days further.
I’ll be heading home this afternoon to “modified activity levels” for the remainder of my pregnancy but not full on bed rest. They want me up and moving a bit, to shower, eat, use the bathroom etc. but not much more than that. Tom will have to be my chauffeur for a while to and from appointments as I won’t be going anywhere else :-) We are willing to do whatever it takes to keep these babies cooking! I’ll take any book/tv show suggestions anyone wants to share!
The babies were monitored quite frequently while we were here (one major plus to being in the hospital) and each time their heart rates were perfect and they’ve been moving like crazy! It’s fun to hear the heartbeats and feel them moving!
Tom has been busy since I’ve been in the hospital, too. Aside from working full time, coming to the hospital to sleep and visit me, he’s also been finishing out basement! This week he got the ceiling and walls painted in the bedroom. Thankful for his hard work!
We’ve also been overwhelmed with all of the support and offers to help. Groceries have been offered, our house was cleaned and laundry done (thanks Anne!) and so many people praying we’ve lost count. I haven’t been able to get back to everyone checking in, so sorry about that, but know each one is appreciated. Check back here as I’ll be updating frequently!
We know we are not out of the woods yet, though we met of first “goal” we still have a long road ahead and possibly other scares to come. Right now we are trusting the drs and listening to them. I have another appointment scheduled for next week, and we will go from there!
— From the five of us :-) thank you all!! ❤️
So happy to hear about no changes. And you got to go home!!! This blog is a nice way to keep us Informed thank you.

DeletePraying, praying, praying! I'm so sorry for the scare but so thankful that they caught it. I've been praying for these babies since before you even know there were 3 and really believe this will be a full-ish term pregnancy! I'm always up for a phone call in your down time Jessica!
