September 2021
It’s fall!! I am so happy. I am absolutely loving this weather and feel so excited for the next few months! Last year was so strange with the holidays I am just really looking forward to seeing family and friends and seeing the holidays through the triplets eyes!
It has been a good summer; but I am ready for the cooler weather and the next few months. We packed a lot into summer this year, the kids are at an age where it’s possible to do a little more so it’s been fun!
This summer we did several parades, the splash pad, waterpark, swimming a few times, the fair twice, a food truck festival, lots of parks, saw fireworks (which they loved, and it was a blast until the ride home when Samuel projectile vomited alllll over - yikes!) and had lots of quality time with family and friends. As hard as it it watching them get older it’s so fun that we are able to take them to do more. We don’t have to be super rigid with their schedule if there’s something we want to do.
Everyone is napping still but some days 1 or 2 don’t nap. I am trying to keep a consistent “quiet” time from about 1-3 each day so even if that day they don’t nap at least we are laying down quietly. Mom needs that break!! Samuel hasn’t missed a nap yet, that boy is exhausted by nap and bed each day. ;) Elliott seems to be ok without a nap, but as long as he’s doing something quietly in his bed or mine I’m okay with it.
We started an ECFE class, called surviving and thriving with twins/triplets. Kind of fun to meet some other MoMs and it’s a separating class so the kids go with the teacher and play for about 90 minutes. Social time for them and a break for me, wins all around! Elliott is also starting in person speech this week! Molly and Sam have been going in person since May, and they have an opening now for E. It will be so nice to have all three in person, virtual was getting hard. Elliott also no longer has OT! His therapist was so happy with his progress and decided he could take a break, we will meet again in 2 months to see if we feel like we need it. So far he’s been doing great and we’ve been able to use a lot of the skills to help him.
We had their 2.5 year checkup last week, all are doing really well! Molly is now 24 lbs, making her in the 3rd percentile ;) she is tiny but she is following her own curve so there is no need to worry. The boys are at about 40-50% percentile. Elliott is 31 lbs and Samuel is 28. So funny that Samuel was so much bigger as a baby and E has passed him up! They are all almost the exact same height, Molly is 1/4” shorter than the boys. They are 36” and she is 35 1/4.
Tom and I went on our first vacation away from them and had a great time! Vegas was a lot as first timers but it was nice to get away together. The kids stayed with my parents for some of the time and with toms the second half, all went well! They had a lot of fun but they were very excited to see us when we came back. Always nice to have a warm welcome home!
I’ve been meaning to get this update done but I am so tired so I am going to have to cut it short. We had another busy weekend and I spent the day working with my mom and Matt helping with UCare’s drive thru flu clinic. It was fun but a lot of work. Go get your flu shots people! :)
