13 months and COVID 19
Well, I can’t really write this post without talking about what is going on. Corona Virus, COVID 19 has taken over. We have been home for about a week now, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better anytime soon. It has been really scary for a lot of people and we are thankful for now that everyone in our house is healthy. It has changed so quickly and seems to be spreading rapidly and so we aren’t taking any chances. We also want to “flatten the curve” and hopefully help stop the spread of this so we are staying home until further notice. Tom went to Sams club last week and got us food and was able to find toilet paper! Big score! We have just been at home and since neither of us are able to work right now we have a lot of free time on our hands... oh wait... we have three 1 year olds ;) Speaking of the one year olds.... They are officially one. 3/11 was my due date if I would have gone 40 weeks so we’ve officially hit the one year old adjusted age.
Elliott - he definitely needs to work on his social distancing ;) he is still crying when I leave the room and is super clingy to me if we go somewhere new. It will be hard when this is all over because I fear he’s going to be even more attached to me. But we will deal with that when it comes. He is generally a happy little guy, he just really loves his mama. He can wave goodbye and clap now!! It is SO cute. He looks so proud after he does it. He is getting up to walk behind his walker a lot but is not standing on his own yet or walking. We think he is getting more teeth (he has 8, 4 on top and 4 on bottom) because he has been drooling quite a bit. He is a really good eater and will pretty much eat anything we give him. We started transitioning off bottles recently so he’s getting whole milk mixed with formula and so far he’s been tolerating it really well, which would be awesome, and means there isn’t a long term dairy allergy!
Samuel - we think he will be the first to walk! He is so close to standing on his own and is constantly pulling up on things. He has one of his top teeth and one of his bottom. So adorable!! He also is clapping and can wave goodbye. He loves Tom, and loves to be chased down the hall. If he thinks someone is going to get him he crawls super fast and it is so funny. He also loves to have something in his hands and will crawl all over with a book or a toy under his hand. He’s been kind of fussy the last few days, not sure what that is about but overall he is a really sweet boy. He has a kidney appointment in April - actually that may not happen now that I think of it - but everything has been looking good for that and he’s still taking his daily medicine to prevent infection. He and Elliott had a sleepover at my parents a few weeks ago and they did great - Sam loves their cats! We may look into getting a speech eval done for his eating, he doesn’t seem to eat much and he pushes a lot of the food out of his mouth with his tongue. He’s still getting milk and bottles for now but I just wonder sometimes how much food he is actually consuming.
Molly - the little firecracker! She is doing really well! She started clapping and waving first, and says “MOM” so loud in her cute little voice. In the morning when she wakes up she will yell “mom” from her crib. Ha! Her and Elliott sound a lot like when they babble but their cries are very different. Molly had her sleepover at my parents last weekend before everything got crazy and did great! She’s a good sleeper and a great eater. She is SO messy though! She gets food everywhere! She can also climb up the stairs (thanks mom for teaching her that!) but she can’t get down herself yet so I try not to let her but anytime we are playing in the kitchen she goes right for the steps. We will need a gate!
She is wearing 12 month clothes and fitting into them nicely. She lets me do her hair now so she usually has a pony tail or pig tails in... so cute!!
Since Molly had the flu right after their birthday in Feb, we didn’t do too much. After seeing her so sick I was paranoid to take them too many places. So, for us being home is pretty much the norm, but it is weird that we can’t do a target run or walk around the zoo or anything. We’ve been keeping busy doing projects at home, which is always fun. We’ve been doing lots of reading, puzzles, walks of we can get outside, and just trying to stay sane ;)
Tom finished my parents laundry room remodel about two weeks ago and then redid our entry way, adding cube shelves into the wall and turning our closet into an open storage area with a bench. It looks incredible. He is so talented! With the way the weather was looking we thought he’d be back to his full time job soon but it doesn’t look like that will be happening for a few more weeks. We have some other things we (I) wanna get done around here so we will try to use this time for that. We were also going to start ECFE classes through the school district but that has moved to an online version. I am not sure what that will look like but we will see! That starts at the end of this month. That’s really about it for this months update!
