11 months
Next time I write an update I’ll have three one year olds!! I can’t even think about it yet, I need more time to process this, ha! This year has just flown by and I can’t believe I’m writing their 11 month update! The saying is sooo clique but it’s true. The days are long but the years are short. Oh, how that has been true for me this year.
Elliott - Elliott is SUCH a mamas boy. Part of me absolutely loves it but the other part tries to remind myself that I need to give him some space, and let him need me! He yells mama mama mama all day and is hands down the BEST cuddler. He knows how to make my heart melt and does it many times a day. I always thought i wanted a girl but oh my gosh there is something about boys and their mamas that can’t even be described. Elliott (and Samuel!!) have such a special piece of my heart. Anyways, Elliott is 19.4 lbs! He almost is caught up to Samuel which isn’t surprising because he eats. Everything. And I mean Everything! We had a scare around Christmas with what we think may have been an allergic reaction to egg. Talk about stressful! Luckily we got a hold of the on call dr at our clinic and gave him Benadryl which calmed the reaction down really quickly. We are going to try egg again in a few weeks, wish us luck! At the time of the reaction he had also been diagnosed that morning with croup, both him and Samuel, so the dr thinks it could have been something weird with being so sick. Crossing our fingers that’s the case. He definitely still has his dairy allergy so we try not to give him any dairy, he loves the dairy free treats Santa brought! He loves to feed himself and has had broccoli, bananas, pears, meat, burritos, pasta, turkey, and toast. We also discovered that he may be left handed!! He eats only with his left hand, so it’ll be interesting to see if that continues. He has really bad skin, unfortunately he has some pretty bad rashes going on and has excema. We are working on the right combo of creams and lotions to get his skin looking and feeling better! He’s pulling up to stand on everything, and has 4 teeth, all on the bottom.
Samuel- still the happiest little guy! He and Molly play really well together, he loves to laugh! He has the best laugh. He isn’t really much of a cuddler and HATES getting his diaper changed, but can be easily distracted with a toy, ha!! He is 19.6 lbs, but I would guess by now he’s over 20! Such a big guy and his rolls are the sweetest thing!! He had a tough month with sickness, croup and he has blocked tear ducts and really dry, red skin around his eyes so when he gets a cold his eyes look awful. He looooves to shake his head “no no no” so when I tell him or one of the other kids no he is always shaking his head! It makes me laugh. He is getting much better at eating but we’ve noticed he is a very slow eater. Tom and I are both really fast eaters as are Molly and Elliott so we joke that Samuel better start to speed up! He still struggles a bit with textures and gags every now and then but it seems as long as he is the one feeding himself, he does much better. He’s eaten most of what we’ve given him but does not like cut up peaches! He isn’t standing quite yet, but is a super fast crawler!! Anytime a door is open, he gets going fast and goes in. He’s doing better with social outings, too and still sleeps well. Mr. Man still has no teeth!
Molly- 17.3 lbs, she’s catching right up!! It’s amazing how much lighter she feels, though. She is a ham. She loves music and she dances!! It is the cutest thing!! Baby shark makes her laugh and smile, much to Toms dismay ;) she is babbling a lot more now, she stares so hard at peoples mouths when they talk and move their lips and you can just see her little brain working so hard to do it. She copies every move I make with my mouth, and loves to give “kisses” (basically just her coming at your face with an open mouth, it’s lovely, haha) she’s super curious and will play with any toy that makes noise but her favorite toy of all is moms phone. Sigh. She has SEVEN teeth!! 4 on the top and three on the bottom. She struggles at night with bedtime, she likes to stay up late. My mom calls her party girl Molly. She screams and cries till we eventually get her (trying to break that habit..) and as soon as we pick her up she’s happy and smiling. She could sleep in late if we’d let her. like her mom! Some mornings I’ll let her sleep till after 730, if she was up late the night before. We had to move their bedroom around (they are still sharing) because she started to stand in her crib and could reach the bedside table with the humidifier on it and the bookshelf. So we had to do some rearranging. Thanks to Auntie Anne for helping me with that last week! Molly is pulling herself up to stand on everything and we predict she will be the first walker of the group. Time will tell! She loves eating and is the messiest!! Sooo messy! She eats really well and loves food. She spent two nights in December at my parents because the boys had croup and we wanted to keep her away and immediately when she came home she greeted Elliott by taking his pacifier out of his mouth and into hers... guess where we ended up Christmas Eve?! The urgency room getting her some medicine for croup. It’s just impossible to control sickness like that with three babies. Huge bummer but luckily they all recovered fairly quickly.
Christmas came and went too quickly! We took down our tree today and our house feels so bare, but I am loving all the extra space and less clutter. I can’t wait to see the magic of Christmas through their eyes in a few years, this year we made memories for ourselves with them! We took them to see Santa at the mall of America and they couldn’t have been less impressed ;) zero smiles, but it was still a fun family day. We haven’t really done much lately, between them being sick and Tom
Working lots of side jobs, we’ve just kind been keeping it steady at home. I’ve gained 10 lbs - which isn’t surprising with the amount of cookies I consumed paired with the lack of gym time! We are going tomorrow though, which will be good for all of us! It’s nice that the holidays are over now and we can start getting back into our routine, and getting out more. We are planning a very small, family only birthday party, so looking forward to that as well. Really no big updates this month, but it was a good month filled with family and love. So grateful for the people that we have in our lives that love us! Looking forward to 2020!
