June 2022

Summer is in full swing around here! We are loving all of the outdoor activities and the warmth! It’s been a lot of fun already this summer, I can already tell a huge difference vs last summer on what they can do. It’s fun to experience all the summer things through their eyes!

So many times I think to myself “I never want to forget this” or “I wish I could bottle up their little voices” so I figured I’d just do a quick blog post so that I can look back and remember one day :)

Elliott is talking up a storm!!!! It is like night and day! I love hearing him talk… turns out he has A LOT to say ;) He just got some red Mickey Mouse native shoes and oh man he is so thrilled about them. So fun to see how much he loves Mickey!

Samuel is the life of the party… and is also exhausting! Ha. He goes a million miles a minute until he crashes. He got some yellow shoes and they make him SO happy! He is a great reminder of the little things being the big things. Give this kid anything yellow and he’s over the moon. Yellow is the perfect color for him!

Molly is starting to really shine in the sass department, ha! She is my little helper and always wants to help me whatever I’m doing. She has also started to ask a lot of questions.. “what’s that mom?” “What’s that for” she isn’t not afraid to voice her opinion or cross her arms and say NO.

Last week they all started school again, hooray! They’ll go through July and then be off August. I’m glad they are going in the summer, it’s soo good for them! They all love it and it’s a perfect break for me!

Some funny things that they’ve said in the last couple of weeks :

I told them we were going to Sam’s Club (the store) and Sam asked if there was a Molly or Elliott’s club.. ha!

Elliott has found the words poop and penis to be hilarious! He will say them over and over and laugh his little head off. It’s hard not to laugh seeing him get so silly over them!

Elliott is still going to speech on Friday afternoons. He loves it and we are just so thrilled with his progress. Sam and Molly are so jealous and cry when they realize that’s where E went. We all love Kenna, his therapist. She saw Molly and Sam for a few months too.

We discovered water balloons and Samuel loves them. He told me he wanted to get water balloons and throw them at Gigi. Haha!

We started a 2 week swimming lesson, in a surprising twist, Sam is very anxious and does not like it. It’s been a little rocky getting him comfortable but I think he will get there. Elliott is a little fish! He loves it and seems so confident and comfortable in the water. Molly is also doing great. I’ve been telling Sam I am proud he is getting in the water, even though he is scared. The differences in their personalities are really starting to show.

Molly HATES when I brush her hair and anytime I do it she shrieks “I want wild hair! I want crazy hair!” Of course she sat perfectly still while auntie anne French braided her hair. It turned out so cute.

Samuel loves peeing outside - we may or may not have gotten him into a bad habit while potty training ;) he and Elliott LOVE being naked and running around the backyard peeing all over. I don’t really care but he’s been starting to say “I need to potty”  and then wanting to go outside.. soo I may need to pull back on how much I am letting them go naked.. whoops.

We have had a great weekend. I am really grateful for feeling good. I have had some hard weeks where I feel so uninspired, the kids just feel HARD, and everything seems really blah. But the weather, getting them back into a routine, and fun things to look forward to on the weekends has really helped. Mental health as a stay at home mom is such a journey.. some days are better than others and that’s ok!
