9 months
Another month has come and gone! The babies are 9 months! (about 7.5 adjusted age.) We have lots of updates from the month - we had our first real round of baby sickness. We spent most of October home sick with nasty coughs and colds. Tom got it first and then spread it to me and the babes. Those of you who have had this know this cold hangs on! We were sick for about two weeks each. Molly got the first ear infection of the bunch and also had Bronchiolitis.. poor girl was coughing SO much. Luckily we are all feeling better now, though Elliott and Molly are still coughing a bit.
Elliott - Mr. Chatterbox! 17.1 pounds, 29" He doesn’t stop babbling and saying mama, unless his pacifier is in ;). He is for sure the mamas boy, he adores me! He was pretty sick and it was so pitiful to look at his little sick eyes. He’s doing great with his food, eating about 1-2 cans of jarred baby food day and still draining every single bottle. He sure loves to eat!! He’s almost sitting up by himself, he can hold it for a bit but then gets lazy and falls to the side. He is crawling, well kind of just dragging but he can definitely get where he wants to go! He has a temper on him, he holds his entire body stuff and pushes back when he doesn't get his way- he is strong! Overall, he is a sweet boy who loves his mama the most.
Samuel- Our big boy!! He is 18.6 pounds, 28.5" and is the smiliest little guy. His laugh is infectious and he loves to be tickled! He's really come along way this month! He seems happier and more comfortable in his own environment. He graduated from physical therapy last week- we were going 2 or 3 times a month to work on his neck tilt from torticollis. His head is so much better and he is so much stronger! We had exercises to do each day several times and a day and it made a huge difference. He can sit up well and is working on crawling! He wakes up smiling and happy EVERY morning and from each nap. He is working with the school district's early childhood education program getting some in home help with his solid food eating and some of his motor skills.
Molly- the patient little ladybird!! 15.6 lbs 28" I am seriously in love with her little smile and her curious personality. She waits patiently for each feeding. She is a trooper! She had an ear infection about three weeks ago and she barely cried.. the boys couldn't handle their colds as well she handled the ear infection. She HATES medicine and will clamp her mouth shut when we try to give her tylenol or any other medicines. Poor lady is getting her top teeth, I can feel them and barely see them but they haven't pushed through yet, hoping soon!! She is working on sitting up by herself, we have some exercises to work on her strength, also through the school district. It is a great program- we have a speech therapist and an occupational therapist that comes to us a few times a month and gives me extra help to make sure the kiddos are still on track developmentally. Molly and Samuel so far are receiving these services, Elliott is not at this time.
We had a busy month in October! Took the kiddos to the pumpkin patch, they had their first sleepover at their cousins house, and had their first weekend away at Gigi and Grandpas. We had a wedding and a weekend away with friends, and it was so nice to get a break and get to see our friends. We also had their first Halloween, and it was a blast! They dressed as pumpkins and even though it was cold, we took them to a few neighbors for their first trick or treating!! Toms family and my family came over to our house for pizza and helped hand out candy and we had a great night. Babes are still napping 2 times a day and sleeping (mostly) 12 hours a night!! Being consistent with their schedule has been challenging but so worth it!
The babies are doing so much better going to the gym daycare. We didn't go too many times in October due to sickness all around but typically when we do go they do great. I've been told a few times that Samuel is a staff favorite- don't tell the other two ;) My birthday is next week and I asked Tom for some personal training sessions at the gym as a present- later this morning is my first session. I am anxious but looking forward to it! I am still doing weight watchers but have had a hard time the last couple of weeks, I got off track for a while but getting back to it. I've lost 21 lbs so far!
The basement is SO close!! Tom hung the last piece of trim last weekend, wahoo! Now we just have to clean up and start decorating, my favorite part!! We ordered our sectional and that should be here next week. I am anxious to get our Christmas tree up, and its going downstairs so I am ready for it to be done and to get the Holidays started in our house! I am so excited for the babies first Thanksgiving/Christmas!! We are starting some new traditions this year. When I was younger I LOVED the magic of this season - I still do! and hope I can pass down that love to them!
It blows my mind that about a year ago I started this blog as a way to update friends/family about our pregnancy and now here we are! Things could have turned out so differently, it brings me to tears when I really think about what could have happened. A year ago I was in the hospital with all of the unknowns and just trying to make it day by day. Thank God he gave us our dreams come true. Hard to believe that in a few short months I'll be giving the babies ONE year updates!
