2021 year in review!

12.31.2021! It is New Year’s Eve! I’m sure we can all say we are looking forward to the new year with caution, it’s all been so much lately. I am hoping the new year brings peace, love and good health to all who might read this!

I am not doing a resolution this year (I read somewhere that only 8% are successful.. crazy!) but instead I just want to overall better myself! I think the one thing I really want to work on is patience. So that’s going to my word for this year. Patience! Patience with myself, patience with my kids, patience with Tom. ;)

January - Samuel had a check up for his kidney post surgery and all looked good. He was still recovering a bit so we had a slower month. Tom was slower at work so we did a few outings to the indoor park and the MN zoo. It was a quiet month at home together. Tom turned 34!

February - Elliott, Sam and Molly are two!! ❤️❤️❤️

March - I really can’t remember anything memorable that happened this month, ha! Looking back at pictures though we spent some time outside, and lots of snuggles and playing in our basement. Sometimes the best memories are when nothing too memorable happens.

April - I snuck away for a quick girls weekend trip to Colorado! Got to meet a friends new baby and see her new house. Lots of laughs with the girls as always.

May - road trip to the outer banks for a family vacation! 24 hours of driving! We went a little crazy ;) but the trips got to see the ocean for the first time and we got back to the place we got married. It was chaotic and stressful at times but overall a lot of fun, and lots of memories were made!

June - Samuel and Molly started speech therapy! Elliott had been going and we decided to add the other two as well. It started out virtual which proved to be quite the challenge, but it was worth it!

July - 4th of July! Spent time with some friends at a bbq and went swimming! E loves to swim, the other two take a bit of time to warm up to it.

August - Dakota county fair with our cousins and nana and papa. Also went to the chicken bbq at aunt Denise’s house. We missed these two events last year so we were happy we were able to go this year!

September - we started an ECFE class called “surviving and thriving with twins and triplets” it was a great class and fun to meet some other multiple families in the area! It met once a week for 3 hours. Went to the IGH fireworks for the first time and they loved it! Will be making it an annual event! Tom and I did our first trip away from the kids! Definitely One of the best things to happen this year! We experienced Vegas and saw our favorite band play. It was so fun and such a cool experience! Celebrated 7 years of marriage on the 16th.

October - we did a trunk or treat with the Moms of Multiples club with our unicorn and two green monsters. Then, RSV hit the house. Molly ended up at the hospital for four nights on oxygen. She was a trooper but it was hard to see her so sick! Thankful for family that was able to help us juggle childcare during this week. Sam and E also got it but were able to recover at home. We missed trick or treating the neighborhood due to everyone recovering.

November - I turned 33! We were able to do a small friendsgiving celebration (missed a few due to covid) and it was fun to catch up with friends! Celebrated Thanksgiving with our families.

December - Bentleyville for the first time! It was lots of fun and they loved the lights. Samuel had his one year post kidney surgery checkup and all looked great!  Saw Santa twice, and got to celebrate with both sides of the family. So many new fun toys and we are so grateful for all the love we received! Had a family wedding the day after Christmas and the trio tore up the dance floor! All three had their last session of speech this month and we are looking forward to them starting preschool in a few weeks!

These are the “highlights”  of 2021. It was a hard year with all the uncertainty and drama in the world right now, but I am grateful when I look back at pictures and think about all the things we did and the memories we made. Cheers to 2022!
