16 months

2 more months and they’ll be a year and a half! Hard to believe. Summer is in full swing over here and we are loving time outside and on the deck. We spend a ton of time outside everyday! Some fun updates to share and an exciting vacation planned in just a few weeks!

Elliott -
Big E is walking so well!! He is toddling all over the place and has gotten much more confident and fast! He hardly ever crawls now and it’s so cute to see him walk all over! He’s still really into his pacifier - I was working on weaning him off but Covid and isolation have been really tough on him so I’ve been way less strict on it. He pretty much has it all the time.. just makes life easier for everyone right now. He is really struggling with stranger danger. Poor guy, he is so cautious and would much rather observe than be part of things. Once he warms up though he really enjoys himself! We are working on getting him out of his comfort zone, slowly. :-)

Samuel-
Mr. Sam is walking!!! He just took off one day and hasn’t looked back. He’s still a little wobbly but he’s doing really well. He is fearless and the happiest little guy. When I say fearless I mean fearless!! He is ALL boy and where Elliott is cautious, Sam will dive right in headfirst without a second thought. I see a lot of injuries in his future. He is saying a lot more words and says mama a lot.

Molly -
She is soo close to walking! I think it’ll be any day now. She gets up and has taken a few steps but hasn’t taken off quite yet. She is still SUCH a peanut. My mom and I went shopping for some summer clothes for her and she fits into the 0-3 month stuff! We ended up buying her 3-6 month shorts that will probably fit her all summer. Little lady! She’s doing well too, we’ve noticed she’s a pretty slow eater so she gets extra time to finish meals. She’s also been pretty picky but loves fruit. Any fruit she will just devour quickly. She’s not a big meat person.

We spend most of our days outside on the deck, and we go for a wagon or stroller ride every morning. It’s been great for me to get out and get some exercise and they love their wagon! They can see so much more than in the stroller. It’s been HOT so we typically try to get out for the walks before 9 am. They are on one nap a day! Last week I finally made the transition and it was rough at first with them not sleeping very long, but we are settling into a good routine. Right now they nap from 12 to anywhere from 230-330. I’d like to get them to a 1:00 PM nap but for now this is working and they sometimes struggle even making it to noon, ha! They are also no longer drinking any bottles!! They get sippy cups of whole milk before bed, and we will probably cut that out soon as they don’t really seem all that interested in them.

Last month I mentioned the fertility study interview and unfortunately I didn’t get chosen. I was a little disappointed, but I guess that’s life. They only chose 3 people and they said they received many heartfelt stories.

In other news, we are taking a family vacation- leaving next week. We are heading to sunny Florida with my parents, Matt and Kira! I am soo excited!! We all need a change of scenery and I am just excited to have help for a full week and spend time by the pool. We rented a private house with its own pool in the Orlando area. Covid 19 is still happening of course so we got a place that we won’t need to leave! It’ll be great to just relax and spend time together and introduce the babies to swimming! We are flying, though and I am really anxious about THREE babies on a plane!! We have lots of snacks and toys packed...  but we will see how it goes, haha. They are sitting on laps. Hopefully they fall asleep!

Tom has been working hard and a few weeks ago he and some friends installed our irrigation system! So that is exciting and our lawn is looking good! We’ve started to loosen up our restrictions/isolation so I’ve seen a few friends and was able to get my nails and toes done, that felt great! I am getting my hair done next week too and I can’t wait. It feels nice to be able to do some things for myself! Short and sweet update this month :)
