34 weeks and another hospital stay!

Back when we found out we were having triplets we set 34 weeks as our goal. 34 weeks also happened to fall on Toms birthday so it was perfect. Towards the middle of the pregnancy that changed and then our goal was just let’s make it one more day. Well, we’ve officially passed the 34 week mark!! 34 weeks, 1 day today! I had an appointment last Thursday and again all looked great. Babies were monitored and all received 10/10 on their bio physicals. My blood pressure was great, still no swelling anywhere and there were no concerns. I was measured and came in at 53.5 weeks pregnant!! Wahoo! Great for the babies, not so much for my comfort levels ;) Saturday evening, I noticed my feet were swollen. Not going to lie, I was a little excited! I thought maybe this means that something was going to happen?! I ended up calling the Dr just to make sure everything was alright since the swelling was pretty sudden, and they said to just watch it and if it got worse to come in. It didn’t get worse a...

Our fertility story

Update- I am still pregnant ;) no new news! This post is about our journey to get to this point. Everything looks great still with the babies and we are on track for making it to the scheduled C section in just a few short (long) weeks!!  I’ve  wanting to write this post for some time now and decided today, when we are just weeks away- or less!-  from our lives changing completely would be a good time. I want to write this post for a few reasons. One, to reflect back on the last 3.5 years and see how much we’ve grown and changed and two, to maybe encourage someone or the very least let someone know they aren’t alone. I also want to be able to read back on this years down the road. Pregnancy loss  and infertility are one of the most lonely things you can experience in the moment, and if this blog can help at least one person realize they aren’t alone, I would love that. This is going to very long, just to warn you :-) Tom and I got married in September 2014. It w...

32 weeks!

Here we are at week 32! 32 weeks, 2 days today, it’s still so hard to believe. This pregnancy has been so unexpected and unpredictable and has had so many changes, just like our journey to get here in the first place. We had a doctors appointment this morning, and we were anxious to find out how the babies are measuring! We only get weight checks for the babies every 4 weeks, so it had been a while and wanted to see how they were growing. Well, they are still growing right on track (even a bit ahead still which is rare for triplets)! Ultrasound looked good- the one thing they have been monitoring since about 16 weeks has been Baby B’s left kidney. It appears to have fluid in it, and they were waiting to see if it would correct itself. As of today, there was still some fluid so they are referring us to a pediatric urologist once he is born. It doesn’t sound like it’s a major issue but they aren’t able to tell what the exact issue is or do any testing while in the womb. We will meet with...

Still Pregnant... 31 weeks

ANOTHER WEEK DOWN! I had a drs appointment today and the dr and nurses were both just so surprised I am still pregnant, ha! I don’t think I really realized how nervous they were about me having these babies at 23, 24 weeks. I am glad I didn’t see how nervous they were but every week they just keep saying how happy they are and relieved we have made  it another week. I had some contractions last night and this morning, and my belly feels SO hard. I woke up this morning feeling like I had a giant bowling ball just sitting in my stomach! It has felt big but today just feels different! I was glad to have my appointment today to talk to the nurse about it. They took my blood pressure and it looked great, and they are still shocked I have NO swelling! I mentioned the contractions so they decided to just check my cervix to see if I was dilated anymore, and nope. Still the same, 1 cm. Crazy to think it’s been 6 weeks I’ve been sitting at 1 cm. Of course it could all change very quickly. ...

30 Weeks and Happy New Year!

Happy new year!!! We can now safely say the babies will be born this year.  It was looking for a while like we may have had 2018 babies but they hung in there! I am 30 weeks 3 days today. So exciting to have made it to this milestone, another huge goal met! I officially have my C section scheduled for early Feb!! They are giving me a 30% of making it that far- but every week, every day is a day closer. The average triplets are born between 32-34 weeks, so I guess we will see what happens! Could be any day now! I was measured at my appointment today and I am coming in at 41 weeks!!  Babies are looking great, have been REALLY active this week! The boys are still breech and pushing down, so the pressure is still occurring especially when walking. I’m still feeling pretty dang uncomfortable, my new pain has been Sciatic pain running down my right leg. I’m unable to put weight on my leg when I get the jolt of pain. Luckily it’s been pretty random and doesn’t last long. Last nig...
