25 weeks!!

Well, it’s Monday! Which means another week! 25 weeks today!! I feel so grateful for every day that I get to be pregnant. Every day the chance of babies survival and overall health increases by 3-4%, so everyday counts. Still on modified bed rest and taking it easy, though. Friday morning we had a bit of a scare as I was feeling increased pressure and just feeling really uncomfortable. I called the dr and they said that they want to see me, so we headed back to the mother baby center to make sure all was good. Luckily, it was, baby A is very low and he had turned, (now head down) which was explaining the pressure. They did some other exams and monitored me for contractions for a few hours and sent me home. I felt silly going in but the peace of mind was worth it to know all is well, still. I have another appointment next week. The babies are super active, especially at night! I can feel the boys (A and B) the most. Baby girl C is laying across my my stomach the long way, so I don’...

Dirty thirty and appointment update!

Ahhh I am 30. It feels weird to say, but I am actually really excited to be 30. Bring it on! So many nice wishes and messages today, I feel very loved! We had our first follow up today after the hospital stay. I was anxious to hear if anything had changed and we knew would be seeing the babies via ultrasound so that is always fun. Happy to report that all looks the same, there were no major changes from being at home! No resdmission and I can stick to the same routine at home! They also gave me the OK to take a Target run today, ha! Highlight of the last two weeks for me for sure :-) The babies are doing great!! They have slowed down a little in growth (very common with multiples) So they are no longer in the 90th percentile, but still are developing on track and look great. Baby A is 1 pound, 11 oz Baby B is 1 pound, 9 oz Baby C (girl!) is 1 pound 8 oz They were all moving around like crazy and I can feel them kicking and moving all the time. At night they move a lot! Baby ...

24 weeks!!

It’s kind of funny that two weeks ago (though we would been excited to make it to 24 weeks regardless) 24 weeks didn’t seem like such a HUGE milestone. But it is!! I am 24 weeks today!! We have made it to our second goal since being in the hospital. Every day I stay pregnant is such a blessing and we are so thankful!! Being home with limited activity has been tough, I won’t lie! I remember in the first trimester I dreamt and wished I could be placed on bed rest, ha! But actually being on it is a way different story. It’s hard not to feel bad when I have so many others picking up the slack for me. But I just need to remember that this is all for the babies and that’s my only job right now. Luckily we have so many loving people in our lives, praying for us! We also are almost out of room in our freezer from all the meals we’ve been brought. It’s amazing how people show up in times of need- thank you everyone! In other exciting news, we are the owners of a minivan!! Tom went and bough...

Heading home

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes- I am going home  from the hospital this afternoon! The drs came in yesterday and evaluated everything, and there was no changes (which is what they wanted to see!) Since there is no way to get my cervix back to where it should be, the only thing we want now is no change. They monitored me for contractions and didn’t see anything that concerned them, so the immediate risk for labor seems to be gone at this time. Whew! It’s been tough to wrap our heads around. From having an excellent appointment at 20 weeks to being told you may be meeting the babies sooner than antipciated was a lot to take in. We also reached our first milestone of making it to 23 weeks! I am now 23 weeks, 1 day. If the babies were to come this week they would be able to take full advantage of the steroid and magnesium that was administered. Yay! Of course, we don’t want them coming quite yet but we are happy to have made it a few days further.  I’ll be head...

Unexpected Hospital stay/Triplet update

Image
Hi there and thanks for reading! I hope to use this blog as a way to update everyone on our triplet pregnancy also share our story as we navigate life with triplets! We are Jessica and Tom, a [semi] normal couple who love and live, and speak loudly. Neither of us are ones to hold back opinions and we often argue about who is the more “stubborn” one. Spoiler alert- it’s not me! Our “journey” started about 3.5 years ago.  In June of 2015 Tom and I were surprised to find out we were expecting a baby. Unfortunately, that baby was only with us for one week before we had our first miscarriage. I say first because after years of trying and many many drs appointments, countless drugs and rounds of fertilty treatments, we went on to lose two more babies in the next 3 years. That is a post I will share at another time. Today’s post starts where we are now. In the hospital on bed rest while I am 22 weeks and 6 days pregnant.... with our miracle triplets babies. When we found out it w...
